When some one comes to your blog and sees that you blog has a lot to offer.
Then the same visitor wont search your blog in search engines and come to you blog. Rather he will directly enter your blog url in his web browser.
More over the same visitor would insist his friends to visit your blog. So we can think how much does a first impression count

First Impressions Count

Every one dream of that their blog would get popular some day and their FIRST IMPRESSION MAKE COUNT.
There are many “first impressions” your blog makes as it gets hard to attract and wait on to readers. But i must say Few of those first impressions come directly from your blog’s design and layout.
Main factors that depend on getting impressions are as follows.

Search Engine Results: there are many search engines in present day. For example you can take example of google , yahoo , msn . The first impression most people get of your blog is found within search engine results.

Link with Other Bloggers: you can link your blog with others. This is also known as link exchange or back linking. You can get a lot of visitors to your blog daily

Main Page: main page is the most vital page of your blog. Your blog traffic will depend upon the main page design and content and layout.

Add background music to your blog

Posted in

Now iam going to say you about adding music in blog. I'll tell you inserting music. Adding music to your blog is very simple and easy to understand.
One of the most easiest method of adding background sound is to include a line like this in your blog template, after the opening tag:

where the URL is that of the background music you wish to use. This method works perfectly well, but visitors to your site will not be able to switch the music off if it becomes distracting.
You may prefer to use this method instead, which is compatible with all browsers (press the play icon to start music):
This is achieved by including the following code somewhere in your template (eg: the sidebar):

You can change some of the variables to suit your needs:
• autostart: set to "true" to make the music begin as soon as the page is loaded, or "false" to ensure the user has to press the play icon
• loop: set to "true" to have the music play over and over, or "false" so that it plays only once.
• height: if this is set to "40", only the play options will be visible. You can make this larger if you prefer, in which case blank space will be visible.
You can use the above method, you can link to .mp3, .mid or .wav music files. More over you must first be aware of copyright restrictions, and check that you have the appropriate rights for use for the music you decide to use!

ADDING MUSIC IN BLOGGER BACKGROUND

By using the process below you can turn off a music in blogger ..

There are two free media storage sites are OurMedia.org or archive.org

Play background music

Adding Background Music

Over using internet over so many years we may have notice that the majority of websites on the web do not have background music. I personally feel adding background music in BLOGGER or in MYSPACE is a cool idea.
Below is the process of adding back ground music in MYSPCE

1.1st Log into your MySpace account
2. While logged in visit this
http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music
3. Check the music available and select a suitable song for your profile

* Click on the link that says “Add” below the song title
* The music is then automatically added to your profile

But it is vital to take note that users can only add 1 song at a time to their profile. Clicking the “Add” link on a second song will result in the original song being replaced on the profile by the new song.

How to improve page rank in blogger

Posted in

You can request a link exchange with a site is easy, but to find a relevant and useful sites that can help to increase your blog’s Page Rank to do link exchange is tough. The links from other blogs/websites to your blog, we called it “Inbound link“, those links from your blog to others’ blog/website, we called it “Outbound link“. So if you want to get better Page Rank for your blog, you must have more quality Inbound link and also Outbound link. All the links are one of the most important factors for high search engine rankings. This is how my make money blog get it’s PR2. PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at considerably more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; for example, it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important.” Taking an example, consider if a PR 6 website links to you and a PR4 website links to you. In such a case it will ofcourse be the PR6 link which will be considered to have more weight than the PR 4 link. Using these and other factors, Google provides its views on pages’ relative importance.
If you want to get high search engine rankings on Google, Yahoo and other major search engines, then your blog must have many good and quality inbound links. Let say your blog have just a 30 high quality inbound link, that’s mean you win a blog that has 100 bad quality inbound link.
How to ensure that a link is quality link or no qualify link ? So there is a few points that make good quality inbound link to your blog :

1) The link should use the keyword in the anchor text

2) Link exchange with relevant site

3) The link must not have a nofollow attribute

AdSense Code in Blogger Post Body

Posted in

One of the known tips for improving the performance of your Google AdSense ads is knowing where to place the ads. In this guide, we shall discuss the modification you can make to your Blog template to have your Google AdSense ads appear between your post title and post body, or between your post body and post footer. Also, we shall have the AdSense ads appear on every individual post.

Choosing a best placement for your AdSense ads will attract more attention; attention leads to clicks; and clicks bring you AdSense revenue. Easier said. While people may have theories on where the ideal AdSense spot ought to be, there is really no standard answer because it depends very much on your Blog's layout, contents, theme, etc. If you have been following the changes made to our Blog, you would agree that we are no guru at this. We had merely placed the ads where they fit aesthetically and not where they will get the most attention. Nevertheless, if you would accept our two cents' worth of opinion, try to put yourself in the minds of your readers. Ask questions like why readers visit your Blog, which section of the Blog are they most interested in, and whether placing an ad at a particular area will distract, annoy or please them.

Many people believe that having AdSense ads just before or after the Blog posts will best optimize their performance. For the purposes of this article and to give you an idea how it would look, we have inserted the AdSense code into our template to have the ads appear immediately below the article and before the post footer. If you think you would like to do the same for your Blog, the following are the steps you should take.

Using Blogger Feature

If you merely want an Ad to appear after every post or every few posts, use this Google feature instead. Go to Template -> Page Elements and you see in your layout the heading “Blog Posts”. Click the “Edit” link at the bottom right corner. You will see this screen.

We assume you have a Google AdSense account. If you don't, you can create one using the same login through your Google account. You will be assigned a Publisher identity number which shall appear in all your AdSense codes.

Tick the “Show Ads Between Posts.” You can select whether to show ads after every post or after several posts. In accordance with AdSense TOC, a maximum of 3 Ads will be displayed. Choose the ad format and color scheme. Save the changes and refresh your Blog to see the Ads.

While using this Blogger feature is simple and easy, you may want more control over the position of the Ads. For example, you may want it between the title and posts rather than after the posts. The following guide will show you how you can do that.

How To Install a Blogger Template, The Complete Guide and The Problems often Occur!

Posted in

Many people do same mistakes on installing a blogger template. This article is created to help you to understand the right way to install it.

Warning, this is a long article, about 2400 words. So you may prepare a cup of coffee first and your time to read this. Or you can also print this article, or bookmark it first, so you can read it later or next time you have trouble on installing a blogger template.

Opening this article could also load pretty long, especially if you don’t have a fast internet connection there. Please Digg or share this with your friends so they can learn also if next time they have same trouble on it.

This guidance is for New version of blogger template. Most problems on installing template are caused by the blogger widgets (Page Elements). So on old blogger version, you don’t have anything to worry.

Why I said it most problems? Does it mean there any any other problem? Yes of course there are other problems caused not only because the widgets. the most known problem which most often occurs also is that it is because many bloggers just copy and paste the code from the XML file into the template editor. that is wrong.

DO NOT just copy and paste the code from the XML file into your template editor on your blogger dashboard!

ust Copy and Paste your XML code is not the same as Uploading the template through the Template Uploader.

This is the main different thing of New Blogger Version and the Old one. On the Old version, blogger doesn’t have widgets on it. So you can just copy and paste the code into the template editor. But Not on the New Version!

On the New Version, Blogger has widgets on it. so you can not just copy and paste the code, you have to upload it.

But why? why can’t I just copy and paste the code? you said it is the widget makes the differences. but why the widgets?

Well, On the new version, Blogger has widgets which they store the widget contents on their Server. If before installing this template you have already been using a new blogger template also, and you have widgets on it, and you store some data’s on it. Then Blogger Engine must has your data’s stored on their Database.

Here if you just copy and paste the code from the XML file into the template editor, the new widgets set on the new template may conflict with the widget set on your previous template which has been stored and saved on the Blogger Database Server.

By Uploading your new template through the Template Uploader, you tell Blogger Engine that you are changing your template. And there, Blogger will makes some adjustment on their Database. But not as you just Copying and Pasting the template code.

I hope you understand about this. Please do not just copy and paste the template code. Always upload it through your template uploader.

New Customizable Recent Comment Widget For Blgger

Posted in

Blogger announced that they support blog feeds in JSON format also. Soon, Hoctro found some sample code to use these JSON feeds and used it to come up with a recent posts/comments widget of his own. I realized that it is now possible to customize the recent comments widget further to anyone's needs.Using this method, we can only show very few words of the comment (too few to comprehend) and upto 5 comments only. I have developed a widget that allows the blog author to customize both these. You can see the new widget in my sidebar, showing entire comment mostly and significant portion of the comment in some cases.

With this widget,
1. You can specify how many comments you want to display in your blog (defaults to 10)
2. You can specify the maximum number of letters that should be displayed in each comment (defaults to 100).

Here is how you add this widget to your blog.

Step 1: Goto Template->Edit HTML tab. Find the tag in your template and add all the code from this page before it and save the template.

Step 2: Goto Template->Page elements tab and click on "Add a page element" in your sidebar. Choose HTML/Javascript element. Give an appropriate title and copy/paste this code.

You need to change the blog URL to yours. You could also change the number of comments/letters per comment to whatever fits your blog. Then, save the changes and move the widget to wherever you want. There, you have a customized recent comments widget!!

For those who are interested in the details, I am displaying the content of each entry in the comment feed instead of the title (after removing all the html tags). I display only the number of characters as specified and also control the number of entries displayed. All this is done in the callback function to which the JSON object is passed.

Increase Your Blog Load Time : Easy Blogger Hack

Posted in

Does your blog load slowly? Many bloggers don't have a clue on this. They assume everyone is seeing their blog at the same speed they are. If it is your personal blog, it may be a big deal to you. If you are trying to run a business, or offer people important information, this can be very important. If your front page takes a great deal of time to load into a browser, then you may want to do a little redesigning to increase the number of visitors that decide to stay at your site.

First, remember that not everyone has a T1, cable modem, or ISDN connection to the internet. In fact, there are still a large number of surfers with modems less than 56K. So, as web designers we must see to it that our sites load as quickly as possible without losing anything important.

Let's start with the obvious bandwidth hogs: images and other media. My suggestion here is to take out every form of multimedia embedded in you front page except for images. Sure, a background song can be nice, but these sound files can take up a great deal of bandwidth, especially if the sound is a .wav file. (I made a 30 second .wav on my computer- It came out around 140K). Videos can be even more taxing, (1 MB or more at times) and should probably be avoided unless absolutely necessary. As a surfer, if I have to wait more than 10 seconds for something like this to load, I'm tempted to hit "Stop" or "Back". So if you use these, keep the file sizes small (Probably 30-40K or less would be OK). Better yet, save them for a later page.

Your images will be your next big worry. These can also get quite large, so caution is necessary when dealing with images. For starters, do not make an image any larger than you need it to be for the effect you desire. If you have an image that is 600 pixels x 600 pixels, your page could take forever to load. One of the easiest ways to reduce the file size of your image is to simply give the image smaller dimensions. Go to your image editing program, and resize or resample your image to make it smaller. You can also compress your images using special services on the web which reduce the file size of images for you, and let you choose the images that still look good once they are compressed.

After you have the images as compact as you can make them, you can save loading time on other pages by using one or more of the images from the front page on other pages. The image you loaded for the viewer on the front page will be in the browser's cache, and will load instantly when it is called on your other pages! This will allow you to load other things you may need without needing to worry about the image again.

Another trick you can use is to define the width and height in all of your image tags. This way, the browser knows how much space the image will use on the page, and will not have to adjust everything once the image starts loading. It will save a little time, and will also keep the page from jumping when an image loads.

Finally, be sure your front page is as short as possible as well. A longer page can take a long time to load, even if it is all text. Put extra information on another page and use a link for people to go view it. You will save a little extra time, and maybe reduce clutter a little bit.

How to Add a Menu Bar To your Blog-Blogger Hack

Posted in

Missing a real menubar on you Blog? This hack explains how you can add a simple menubar to the top of your Blog. It is in fact a simple link list, and that is a standard page element of Blogger Beta. I have added a new section at the top of the Blog Page, and the link list is inside that section. Of course there are some tricks to play, such as hiding the link list title, and showing the links list elements side by side. Here is how it is done.

In this Page Layout you can see where I have added the Menubar. The code of this section is highlighted in red:

To the CSS-part of your template, add coding for the menubar-id:

#menubar h2 {display:none;}

#menubar ul {
list-style: none;
}
#menubar li {
float: left;
}

#menubar a:link, #menubar a:visited, #menubar a:hover {
padding: 5px;
display: block;
color: $headerTextColor;
}

#menubar a:hover {
background-color: $headerCornersColor;
}
The menubar title is hidden, so that only the options are visible.
The list-elements are set to none, so that there are no bullets in front of the menu options. And if a menu-option is hovered over, it is highlighted
